Details
Long unavailable due to obscure reasons of film rights, this is perhaps the most underseen of Luis Buñuel’s great films made during his sojourn in Mexico. Here, Buñuel is unsparing in his incisive and downright dark portrayal of a man, outwardly normal, who, behind closed doors, terrorizes his inamorata. But because of the place of women in society, she has no place to turn for help. Bleak, powerful, and relevant.

Meetup Structure:
1: Meet at the lobby of the theater with other members prior to the screening. (Look for movie poster, Deserto Rosso: poster image link )
2: If you missed or arrived late then meet the Event Host who will wait for all the participants to converge in the lobby after the screening at the same spot.
3: The group will proceed to the designated hangout space for the discussion.
The Discussion Format:
1: Introductions (Names, favorite movies/directors etc.)
2: Each participant will share their one sentence that best captures the film. Imagine you had to pitch the film (you just watched) as an idea to some hypothetical producers, how would you summarize it in one line?
3: Open-ended discussion
4: Close-out and Rating: At the conclusion of the discussion, each participant will rate the film on the scale of four stars. Event Host will tally all the ratings and calculate the average rating and post it in the event's message board. Event Host will also write up a summary of the discussion and they will post it in the message board.
