ABOUT THE FILMS:
***Without Kosovo ***(22m)
In this deeply personal documentary, filmmaker Dea Gjinovci tells the story of her father, Asllan Gjinovci, who was forced into exile after taking part in student protests for Kosovo’s autonomy in 1968. Decades later, his daughter retraces his journey from a refugee camp in Italy back to his birthplace in Kosovo in her quest to understand how her father’s exile has impacted their lives.
In French with English subtitles.

117 (16m)
Shot in 1976 by acclaimed director Besim Sahatçiu, 117 offers an intimate look at a traditional Albanian family in the Kosovar village of Nevokaze. With 117 members living under one roof, the film captures their harmony and cultural richness, serving as a profound ethnographic portrait of a nation.

This primarily visual documentary contains short passages in Albanian.
