Holiday Gallery Reception, CityCenter Lights/Music and Grandma Moses!
Details
I thought it would be nice to do a holiday get-together before it gets crazy-hectic for everyone. Touchstone Gallery has really accomplished openings and is one of the friendliest galleries in the city. We'll gather there to look, have a glass of wine, and socialize. Then we'll walk to City Center where there are lots of decorations and some singing. Then we'll walk to the Portrait Gallery to see the new Grandma Moses exhibit (pictured) and enjoy the wonderful atrium. After that, I will leave you to the very cool Holiday Market there in front on F St. where there is live music and lots of shopping!
One note: We'll settle in at Touchstone to socialize and enjoy until at least 5 pm.

Grandma Moses: A Good Day’s Work sheds new light on a beloved body of work by Anna Mary Robertson “Grandma” Moses (1860 – 1961). Grandma Moses used creativity, hope, and togetherness as tools for shaping a life that she metaphorically likened to “a good day’s work.” The artist’s fame made her a polarizing figure — beloved by the popular press and American public but belittled by the art world and critical press. This exhibition introduces the artist to new generations and examines her legacy in the context of America today.
