Wolf Trap Saturday Night Picnic With NSO; Gershwin, Bernstein - Ticket Required

The Saturday evening weather forecast is wonderful, and the music looks even better. Celebrate America’s musical spirit with Gershwin’s jazz-infused brilliance, Bernstein’s unforgettable music from West Side Story, and Renée Fleming performing timeless favorites with conductor Noseda and the National Symphony Orchestra.

We will have a picnic on the lawn starting at 6:30 when the gates open. At Wolf Trap, you can bring your own food and drinks (including wine) - and maybe bring one dish to share with the group, if you choose.

Lawn tickets cost $39 in person and $49.50 online. Here is the link to purchase online. But they will also be available at the box office before the show. Wolf Trap does not charge fees in person which is nice. There is also a bus that goes to Wolf Trap from West Falls Church metro I believe.

Conducted by the National Symphony Orchestra’s music director Gianandrea Noseda, the orchestra celebrates American composers and musical contributions to film, Broadway, and opera. Experience the unique musical-visual project that’s sweeping the nation with composer Peter Boyer’s American Mosaic paired with Americana photo historian Joe Sohm’s stunning imagery from across all 50 states. Afterwards, enjoy classic renditions of works from Bernstein’s beloved West Side Story and witty operetta Candide, plus Gershwin’s lively, jazz-influenced score of An American in Paris.
