Palestine 36 (director/screenwriter: Annemarie Jacir, Palestine-UK-France, 2025. 120min)

A film which highlights an important moment in Palestinian history, chronicling the lives of people affected by the events leading up to the 1936 revolt by Palestinian Arabs in British-mandated Palestine as a culmination of increasing tensions and instability in the strife over territory, displacement and identity. An entrant at this year’s London Film Festival and at the upcoming Palestine Film Festival, the film is also Palestine’s official submission for the Oscars.
