Made by 20-year old Kane Parsons, known for his YouTube videos, which are set in strange, liminal spaces. Backrooms is Parson's debut feature, set in the basement of a furniture showroom, where Chiwetel Ejiofor enters a doorway leading to a creepy, otherworldly labyrinth. Made on a budget of $10mn, the film went viral in LA and has been a huge box office success worldwide.
