Welcome to the California Coast Classic training announcement. I have a great ride planned for this Saturday, May 17. Let’s meet at Doyle Park, 8175 Regents Road, in San Diego. This is near the intersection of Regents Road and Nobel. Try to get to the park by 8:15 so we can start the ride at 8:30. This week we’re riding to Cabrillo National Monument, so if you have a National Park Pass, please bring it as it allows four riders per pass. We’ve always had enough passes in the past but if not, the entry fee is $10. Since this is still early in our training season, this week’s ride will go straight to the visitor center (with a loop to the tide pools) and back to Doyle Park.
We had a great ride last week, looping through Tierrasanta and coming back via the Rose Canyon Bike Path.
My best guess is the ride will take between 4 and 4 1/2 hours depending on how long we stop at the visitor center.
Please let me know if you intend to join us as (you never know) I may need to cancel because of rain (current forecast is 35% chance somewhere in San Diego) and I’ll notify everyone that lets me know they’re coming.
Please record my cell number as sometimes we get separated and mechanical issues may arise. Send me a text if this occurs to you as I see texts on my GARMIN headset. I try to keep the group roughly together.
