Artificial Intelligence in Hospital Care

Details
We are back after the summer with this 4th edition being hosted by the Antoni van Leeuwenhoek hospital (also known as Netherlands Cancer Institute). As it will take place in the hospital, it will be more clinically flavored and focus on how hospitals are already changing through AI.
There is also a panel discussion for which we ask your input at sign up. We raffle the book Deep Medicine by Eric Topol amongst the ones who pose a question.
We have an elaborate line-up so we start a bit earlier.
The event is free of charge and talks are in English.
Agenda:
17.00 Walk-in, pizzas and drinks!
18.00 Introduction
18.10 Impact of AI on radiology in practice
18.40 From healthcare.hospital import datascience
19.10 Break
19.30 In-house development of machine learning algorithms: predict readmissions
20.00 Panel with the speakers and Irith Kist, Data Protection Officer
20.30 Drinks
Impact of AI on radiology in practice:
Radiologists Erik Ranschaert and Laurens Topff shall give an explanation on what AI actually is and what the impact is going to be on a clinical department such as radiology. Furthermore, they will address the current plans the AVL radiology department has, to improve healthcare by applying AI.
From healthcare.hospital import datascience:
Patrick Gonzalez & Pavlos Papaconstadopoulos are clinical data scientists/engineers and have worked on developing an anomaly detection system to aid radiotherapists in the task of CT annotations. In this talk, they also gave on PyData London 2019, they will tell about the project and give an overview of the challenges, successes and pitfalls of implementing a data science project in a clinical environment.
In-house development of machine learning algorithms: predict readmissions:
Healthcare institutes have started developing their own machine learning models, usually leaving the technical work to external software providers. Bart-Jan will discuss what is necessary to develop models in-house and use them in your healthcare organization. Bart-Jan Verhoeff is internist-nephrologist and CMIO in the St. Jansdal hospital in Harderwijk.
