So, you can use a chatbot... now what?

This is a session for people that know how to use a chatbot, but are feeling like they could be doing more with AI. This class will introduce you to some concepts and ideas about how to use AI more productively and safely.

This will be a hands-on class, so you MUST have two things ready when you arrive: 1) your own laptop or, I suppose, a mobile phone with an AI chatbot application. 2) Your own subscription to an AI service like Anthropic (Claude), Open AI (Chat GPT), Grok, Google Gemini, or similar. We are going to be doing a lot of interactions with the models, so if you are a free account--these are usually usage limited--you likely won't be able to participate for the whole 2 hours.

This event (class) is going to be a little bit of Ian talking and taking questions and a lot of exercises for you try. These should give you ideas about how to get more out of your AI tools. There will also be a demo (not an exercise) about what are now being called "personal AIs". We can't do exercises on this topic, sadly, because of the security risks of these types of applications.

If you come a few minutes early, you can make sure you have access to the wifi, power, and your laptop can get connected to your AI of choice.
