AI NI: Academy 1 - An Introduction to SciKit Learn

AI NI Academy is a new initiative stemming from Artificial Intelligence Northern Ireland driven by a passion for educating the AI community. Our workshops are designed to be accessible for any experience levels, whether you’re just getting started out or have been in the industry for years. AI NI Academy will teach the fundamentals behind Machine Learning and AI using collaborative tools, understandable language and various technology stacks to highlight the multiple ways to implement Machine Learning.

The Academy will be a series of hands on practical workshops guided by mentors and industry professionals. All you need is a laptop, basic python skills and a keen interest in Machine Learning. Most importantly these workshops are also 100% free!

The first workshop will use Google Colaboratory to teach the basics of SciKit Learn through the use of facial data. We will cover:

• Introduction to Machine Learning
• What is an Image?
• Understanding your data
• Data visualisation & manipulation
• Model Creation
• Model Predictions

Throughout the workshops there will also be programming challenges to apply your new found Machine Learning skills to! Don’t worry there will also be hands on mentors during the sessions that can offer advice and guidance to help you.

NOTE

The workshops are designed to be 'drop in, drop out' so each is a independent lesson. For example you can come to the first workshop, but your not committed to come to the second if your unavaliable. Each workshop will teach a new topic, intended to be accessible to beginners each time.
