"Nudging" - Using AI to guide people's behavior in a positive direction

Details
When we nudge, we subtly guide someone’s behavior or thought process in a specific direction. Should AI systems now take the lead?
Nudging is not necessarily a bad thing. As Dr. Marianna Ganapini points out, placing fruits and vegetables on easily accessible shelves in a cafeteria to promote healthier eating habits seems like a reasonable and smart idea to change behavioral habits. What does this mean for AI?
I'm happy to host an online-only session with Marianna to get deeper into AI's possible influence on human behavior.
Abstract: This talk aims to shed light on the ethics of adopting nudging in an AI-human collaboration environment. Based on our current research, my collaborators and I designed a framework for using AI nudges to improve decision-making and performance while respecting ethical values such as human autonomy.
