Welcome to 2019. We're kicking off the year with a new approach, and a new format! We're expanding the topic range of the meetup to include anything "future tech" such as IoT, VR/AR, Game development, Cloud, etc. We're also including a lightning talk at each event exclusively for new presenters to help encourage more people to share their work and gain experience speaking and interacting with the community.

AWS: An ML Overview
The lightning talk will cover an overview of basic resources required for running python scripts and ML.
The main focus will be on AWS resources and how the setup differs from that of Azure

The Dark Side of Artifical Intelligence
This talk will take you through some of the instances where AI has been misused or caused serious to disastrous situations in the real world. This can be attributed to biases, ethics, and fairness not taken well enough into account when creating and using AI in the real world. You will gain an understanding of when these situations are at play and how they could be mitigated.

About the Presenters :

Akira
I am an ambitious, hardworking, headstrong individual who is always looking to learn new things and broaden my horizon of knowledge and expertise. Encompassing a passion for numbers and problem solving from a young age, I took to pursuing a study path in Mathematics and Computer Science. This allowed me to pursue the career path of a Data Scientist which I am currently upon at Entelect.

Amrit
I am currently a Data Scientist at Entelect. Since 2015, he's been building software mainly in the financial and investments sector and worked across the full software development lifecycle. Since 2018, however, he returned back to his roots and passion for machine learning. He has an MSc in Computer Science specializing in Computer Vision which he completed in 2014. While his models are training, you can find him listening to the latest EDM, stumbling around on crutches, or eating his favourite pizza.
