What we’re about
Artists and the Age of AI is a group for artists, creatives, and technologists in Austin working at the intersection of art and AI. We value innovation, human artistry, and the ethical, responsible, and productive use of AI in the development of creative work.
Artists and creatives in all disciplines and at all levels of experience, especially those currently using AI or interested in using AI for their creative projects, are welcome. Our meetups are a warm, collegial, and inviting space to exchange perspectives, opinions, and concerns about the current state and future of the arts, AI, and technology.

What Are the Meetups About?
We host in-person meetups the second Thursday of the month at Capital Factory in downtown Austin. Meetups are opportunities for members to enhance their knowledge about AI, stay updated on innovative tech-centered creative practices, and build professional connections across disciplines of art and technology.
Sessions feature presentations, interactive Q & A's, and group discussions by leaders and experts in the field on different topics addressing:
- innovative applications of AI in creative projects and work flows,
- opportunities, risks, and challenges for artists and creatives,
- how AI is impacting society and challenging our understanding and assumptions,
- leveraging AI for its economic and/or career potentials,
- what AI holds for disciplines in the future.
Meetups are free and open to the public. All are welcome. You do not need a Capital Factory membership to attend.

How might this technology forge new models of expression and reshape how we create, share, and experience art?In this month’s meetup, we’ll ponder the larger implications of digital twin technologies for artists, creatives, and technologists by looking at case study examples of the ways this technology is being incorporated in the art world. Be prepared to engage in a lively group discussion of how we might apply this technology in our own disciplines and industries.

We’ll be in Astro Boy on the 1st floor of Capital Factory, which is located inside the Omni Hotel in downtown Austin. Once inside the Omni, head to the security desk in the lobby area outside of Capital Factory and they can direct you. The entrance to Astro Boy is on the 1st floor off the lobby area near the Capital Factory elevators.Parking:
You can park streetside (metered) or inside the garage under the Omni Hotel. Capital Factory will validate parking in the Omni Garage to the reduced flat rate of $8 if you arrive after 5p and leave before 10p.Membership Not Required:
