Artists Figuring AI is a community-driven meetup group dedicated to protecting creative rights and empowering artists in the age of artificial intelligence. Led by an AI ethicist and filmmaker, we provide a space for artists across all disciplines to learn, organize, and advocate for their work in an increasingly AI-saturated society.
Our Mission
We believe that human creativity is irreplaceable and that artists deserve control over how their work is used. Our group focuses on three core pillars:
Advocacy & Rights Protection
We actively advocate for stronger legal protections for artists and push back against unauthorized AI training on creative works. We organize campaigns, share resources for collective action, and connect artists with legal support and advocacy networks.
Education & Empowerment
Knowledge is power. We provide practical workshops and information sessions on how to protect your work from AI scraping, opt out of AI training datasets, use metadata and watermarking tools, and understand your rights under current copyright and intellectual property law.
Community & Solidarity
Artists are stronger together. We create space for artists to share their concerns, frustrations, and strategies. We organize anti-AI events, discussions, and collaborative projects that center human creativity and question the narrative that AI is inevitable or beneficial for the arts.
