Step into a world where reality begins to unravel

đŸ„ Are you ready for the new season? We’re kicking things off with something a little edgy, a little unexpected and definitely memorable, in true London Art Lovers style!

🎹 This Sunday we are visiting Enclosure at Somerset House, a surreal and immersive exhibition by British artist and filmmaker Jenkin van Zyl. Set within a mysterious facility where identities can be transformed, the exhibition explores themes of technology, escapism, identity and our increasingly digital lives.

Blending film, sculpture, sound and installation, van Zyl creates a strange and captivating world somewhere between a dream, a video game and a dystopian fantasy. Expect something playful, unsettling and visually spectacular as we explore an environment where reality, identity and imagination begin to blur.

We will meet at the exhibition entrance which is at Lancaster rooms, new wing.

đŸŽ« Tickets are free or you can offer a donation. A booking is required.

Please book your slot for Sunday 11th October at 1pm here.

❗Please note (from the gallery’s website): This exhibition contains references to and images of blood, death, and psychological distress. The exhibition is not suitable for visitors aged 12 and under. If you require any further information, please speak to a member of the Visitor Experience team.

More info on the gallery’s event page here.

We will take about 1 hour to explore the exhibit then go for coffee somewhere nearby. ☕

Everyone welcome 🙂

Important to note:

  1. We typically socialise at cafés after the exhibit, nice, independent ones, not chains and not at pubs. If the event is late on a Saturday we go to a nice bar/pub for drinks after. This meetup is inclusive and everyone is welcome to join.
  2. If you get there before everyone and you’re not sure what to do or where we are, post a comment on here and I will let you know our whereabouts.
  3. Once we go in we may separate, feel free to explore the exhibit by yourself, we don’t have to be together. Some people like chatting to others while exploring and other people prefer to be with their own thoughts. You are welcome to express yourself and do whatever feels comfortable.
  4. If you are late or if you’ve booked for an earlier or later time don’t worry just go in and you’ll find us inside. Keep an eye on the comments as I’ll be posting updates.
