Arts Lab of South County is where Southern Anne Arundel County comes to make things. We're home to resident artist studios, a gallery, and a classroom and communal space, plus Clay on the Bay, where clay makers work side by side, share ideas and materials, and figure out their next thing together. Come for open studios, classes, art talks, and free hands on programs, and stay to watch work actually get made. We offer art up close, in person, and in progress. Founded in 2018 by five South County women who believe in the power of creative community, we're here to make art accessible, nurturing, and thrilling for artists and neighbors alike. No experience required, just curiosity. Come make something with us.

Beginning Pottery: Wheel Throwing for Beginners
Arts Lab of South County, 312 Deale Rd, Tracys Landing, MD 20779, USA, Tracys Landing, MD, USThere's a reason people get hooked on the pottery wheel. You start with a lump of clay and end up holding something built to last, made with your own hands.
*Ticket info at the bottom of this description*Over six Tuesday evenings with instructor Becky Swerida, you'll learn how clay and glaze materials actually behave, and how to make them do what you want. Through demonstration, discussion, and plenty of time with your hands in the mud, we'll focus on bowl forms and throwing off the hump, then move into finding your own style and figuring out glaze solutions that suit it.
No experience necessary. Just a willingness to make a few wobbly bowls on the way to a good one.
