Visual Poetry: The Courage to Create
with Treehouse resident visual artist Seçil Güven
A workshop where words become painting.
Led by Amsterdam-based Treehouse resident Seçil Güven (visual artist, creative mentor, and organiser of literature reading groups), the session moves between reading and making, treating text as material for visual work.
Participants are invited to choose a sentence from a book that has special meaning to them. It doesn’t matter if you haven’t read the book yet—we will provide printed quotes. From this starting point, each person will develop a painting that responds to the words in their own way, through form, colour, and gesture.
