Garton Coffee House, Midhurst Market Square, Barnham Station return
Details
Enthusiast ride up Bexleyhill and one stop at Garton Coffee House, Midhurst Market Square.
The usual rules for all Club rides regarding bike maintenance and bringing sufficient tools and materials with you for minor repairs such as tyre or inner tube punctures. Also, ride with sufficient care and consideration in the interest of your own and others safety.
Bexleyhill is big hill of the day, just before lunch, mostly due to its' length. Take the first quarter gently, then you can rejoice on the final steep slope. Don't rush the descent to the junction on a bend of the A272, at the edge of Midhurst.
The more scenic route from here is left, right across the main road to enter Cowdray Park, heading toward Castle ruins. Starts as a driveway, then crosses the River Rother on grassy footpath - cannot rule out a bit of mud, depending on conditions of the day. Depends how enthusiastic you are feeling.
Grim Reeper guards the Castle Entrance at Halloween, creating a suitable atmosphere.
Route details, including elevation Profile shall be published on Arun/Adur WhatsApp, Tuesday Rides, on the afternoon of the 17th March Club ride.
If the weather is fine, there are a number of outside seats and dining tables in the peaceful Market Square. The cafe has an alcohol license.
