Ascent of Truleigh Hill with picnic break at the top
Details
Non-members welcome.
Meet at Worthing Pier at 10:00.
We'll cycle, via the Shoreham wooden bridge east side (please let me know if you'd like to join the group at this point), to the summit of Truleigh Hill. It's a long climb that riders are advised to take at their own pace. We'll descend back into Shoreham and return to Worthing pier.
With the YHA currently closed, please BYO snack and drink. There are picnic facilities at the YHA where we'll stop.
The ride will be a little over 20 miles.
At the time of posting, the weather looks superb but, should there be a significant change, this itinerary could be updated.
The route between Worthing and Shoreham is tba due to the current work on the cycleway at Lancing.
Please check that your bike is roadworthy - we recommend the “M Check” shown here: https://www.sustrans.org.uk/our-blog/get-active/2019/everyday-walking-and-cycling/mcheck
If you have a pump, puncture repair kit and a basic cycling tool kit, we recommend bringing them (just in case).
Children are welcome, but must be accompanied by an adult.
All participants are ultimately responsible for their own safety and wellbeing and should be aware that the medical/first aid provisions are no different than if they were riding on their own or informally with friends
