What we’re about

Welcome! We are the DFW Autistic Support Group, a vibrant community that values diversity, empathy, and mutual support. We cater to autistic adults and adolescents in the Dallas and Fort Worth area, but our family extends to anyone who identifies as neurodivergent and their allies.

Our mission is to provide a safe space where everyone feels heard, understood, and valued. We foster an atmosphere of openness and respect, where everyone's experiences and perspectives are recognized. We believe in the strength of our community to evolve together, learning from each other's unique journeys.

We realize that life comes with its own rhythms, so our gatherings are designed with flexibility in mind. We schedule our meetings to start at 4 PM, but the conversation doesn't even officially begin until 4:15 PM. This means you have the freedom to arrive when it feels right for you - no stress, no judgment.

Beyond our in-person meetings, we also host engaging discussions on online platforms like Facebook and Discord, so you can connect with our community from the comfort of your own space.

Though our meetings are free to join, we rely on donations to keep the lights on. Your generosity helps us continue to provide these spaces for connection and growth.

So whether you're seeking support, looking to make connections, or wanting to share your experiences, we invite you to join us. We can't wait to meet you!

We will use this time to discuss realistic and practical solutions that are relevant to the autism community, and not the typical one-size-fits-all solutions we tend to find when seeking professional or independent support.

Please feel free to contribute any topics or resources as we will be cycling through member suggestions each time. The next meetup could be based on YOUR suggestion!

Welcome to our monthly in-person general support meeting!

We're a diverse group of autistic adults, adolescents, and supportive allies. We believe in the unique experiences and perspectives that each person brings. We're excited to meet you and hear your voice!

This meeting is part of our weekly support sessions, but it's a special opportunity to connect face-to-face once a month.
We meet in Dallas, but if you can't make it in person, you're welcome to join us online for free via our Discord server:

To make our online meetings more comfortable for everyone, we have guidelines in place to accommodate sensory sensitivities. We monitor audio levels to ensure they're not overwhelming and create a structure for the conversation to avoid people talking over each other. We understand that some people might feel anxious about knowing when to speak up, so we have clear cues and turns for sharing during the discussion.

If you're not ready to share or speak during a meeting, that's absolutely fine. You're welcome to participate at your own comfort level – whether that's typing in the chat, speaking only when you feel comfortable, or just listening in. Your presence alone is valuable to us.

We understand that schedules can be unpredictable, so we don't require RSVPs. If you decide to join us at 5:59, that's totally okay. We're proud of anyone who's able get through their social anxiety enough to show up at all.

We officially start our discussions at 4:15 PM, but we open our doors usually before 4:00 PM. This 15-minute grace period is so we can accommodate anyone who wants to arrive early or who might be running a bit late. No matter when you arrive, you're a valued part of our community.

It does not cost anything to attend, donations are at your discretion, but it does cost us $25 per meeting for the location, so donations are appreciated.

We strive to create a supportive and inclusive environment. If you have any suggestions, concerns, or ideas for improvement, we're open to hearing them. We're committed to growth and open dialogue.
