Join us at Jack Cassidy's in Pottstown for an open, solutions-oriented discussion on America's imperialist war machine.

The U.S. spends over $1 trillion each year on a bloated war machine, fueled by deficit spending, the Federal Reserve’s infinite printer, and the relentless transfer of public wealth into military-industrial profits. That money goes straight into the pockets of defense contractor executives, whose grandiose promises of advanced weapons systems are regularly revealed to be complete failures.

Aside from the obscene levels of waste, the military wreaks untold havoc on populations around the world. It maintains 750+ overseas bases, drone campaigns, and regime-change operations that destabilize entire regions, generating blowback, refugee crises, and heightened global tensions. “Enemy” nations bear the consequences of bombing, blockade, and occupation.

At home, austerity and decay deepen while the fat cats post record profits. With a trillion dollar budget, how many times over could we end homelessness, provide universal healthcare, and fund free education?

The solution requires more than reform. Without dismantling the system itself -- Wall St, the Fed, and corporate control of our institutions -- we’d only be addressing the symptom, not the root cause. Only a government of, by, and for the people can put an end to this madness.

Join us for a drink and a casual discussion on these topics and more. See you there!
