Psychedelic Surrealism
Details
On May 14 from 6–8 PM, I'm hosting a one-night-only show at Asbury Park Art Club for my brother, David Propp.
His work is wild in the best way. It’s surreal, colorful, and a little trippy. The work comes out of a deeply personal period. After relocating to care for my parents, he lost access to many of his materials and room to work. So for the past few years, he has been working exclusively in sketchbooks, producing an extraordinary volume of work.
As my older brother, David taught me to appreciate art at a young age, to draw and embrace the weird. It’s always been a dream of mine to support my brother’s artistic work in a bigger way. He’s incredibly prolific, but not many people have had the chance to see what he’s created. We will have art on the walls as well as a bunch of his sketchbooks to flip through (my favorite part).
This show means a lot to both of us. I’d really love for there to be a strong, engaged crowd, and it would mean so much to me if you could come by (and bring a friend or two).
Hope you can make it! Karen
