Beginner Mountain Biking at Bent Creek (Rental Bikes Available)

Details
Let's practice mountain biking together!
Have you recently taken a mountain biking lesson and want to hone your skills? Have you mountain biked before, but it's been a long time and you feel rusty? This event is for you! This event will be geared towards newbies to the sport, as we will be going at a slow pace, stopping frequently for breaks and to re-run more challenging sections to get more practice in, etc. We will aim to cover 6-10 miles, with such a wide range based on the group's comfort level, how many technical features we encounter and want to run again, etc. If you are an avid mountain biker, this event is likely not going to be your cup of tea as we will be taking it slow. But... if you want to join for social purposes and want to share your knowledge, you are welcome!
If you do not have a mountain bike of your own, you must contact MustAsheville bikes for arrange a rental bike (and helmet) for pickup at 5:30 pm. You will be responsible for reserving your own bike, but if you do not have a vehicle that can transport, the event hosts will be happy to help :-)
If you have your own mountain bike, you may meet us at MustAsheville Bikes at 5:45p. From there, we will carpool to Bent Creek Experimental Forest's Rice Pinnacle Trailhead. We will target a start time of 6 pm and will follow one of the two routes below, starting with the less technical road to get our bearings.

We will plan to bike for an hour and a half to two hours, right up to dusk.
There will be a few rules for this event as well:
1. By RSVPing to this event, you acknowledge that I am NOT a certified guide nor a mountain bike instructor. My role is solely to facilitate the event. I will not be guiding, nor able to provide any instruction on biking. By joining this event, you acknowledge that I am not responsible for an injury (or worse) you may sustain during (or as a result of) this event, and you release me from any liability.
2. While the trails are dog-friendly, this event is not. I love bringing my dog as much as the next person, but with mountain biking newbies, we want to eliminate any extra variables/distractions. So, no pups on this trip.
3. You MUST bring a headlamp and water, and agree to wear a helmet AT ALL TIMES that we are on the bikes. You may remove your helmet only if we are stopped and off the bikes.
4. You MUST read this article to familiarize yourself with the rules/etiquette of mountain biking

Please reach out to me directly if you have any questions at all! I am happy to answer anything I can :-) Thank you and hope to see you there!
