Flat Laurel Creek, Sam's Knob, and MST Loop

Join me on this 9.5 mile day hike with 1,500 ft elevation gain. The Parkway is closed, but we can still access the amazing trails in this part of Pisgah via Lake Logan Rd.

This loop should take us about 5 hours, assuming an average 2.5 mph pace with a few snack breaks and a longer lunch along the way. Make sure to bring plenty of food and water for a 9-10-mile hike.

We will be hiking between 5,000 and 6,000 ft elevation so it will be COLD and maybe snowy/icy. Bring extra layers :-)

This trail is dog-friendly, but all dogs must be socialized and kept on leash at all times - no exceptions.

We will be following Leave No Trace Principles, so please keep that in mind as you pack for this hike!
