Are you missing some of the culture and customs of your upbringing... I am an American citizen but grew up in France. Came here at 24. That was several lifetimes ago. Perhaps the entire world's values have changed or is something missing here, that has always been missing. Making time and valuing friendships, feeling free to speak your mind, dinners at home with friends with unguarded conversation ....
I am feeling the divide more than ever before , perhaps because I used to be so busy myself and maybe as I grew old I started to feel lonely , having found it very difficult to connect and yet when the opportunity to meet French , Italians and Brits comes up, it is an easy bond, a feeling that I have found difficult to find with born and raised Americans.
I live in West Asheville Meet up for coffee, a potluck, a walk followed by a brew, art walk......
My husband Ian and I are retired, living primarily in West Asheville. We are animal lovers ( vegan), both amateurs painters, enjoy live music, art walks, good movies and intelligent series, breweries, sharing good food with good company and conversation, among other things....
