Baldwin Field Branch Loop - Faery House Walk: Inner and Outer Life of Humankind
Details
A late breaking jaunt ... back by popular demand!
Tuesday looks like a great day for a hike - highs in the 60's and slight chance of rain ... some wildflowers expected ... so let's go for a walk!
The walk is a west-side favorite - Baldwin Field Branch ... park at the Reeves Cove trailhead (see pinned location in this meetup listing ... or about 3/4 mile to west of where Reeves Cove leaves Lake Drive), meet at 9 AM, leaving on walk no later than 9:15. Group size is limited due to parking, if you have multiples in your party, feel free to come along w/o signup for the extras.
The trail is 3.5 miles, 390 feet elevation. The walk follows the handsome Baldwin Field Branch for a bit, then climbs part way to Mease Gap, then looping around on forest service road connecting back to the branch. Mountain views include Rice Pinnacle and Scott Mountain.
The topic of the day is "Inner and Outer Life of Humankind" ... we will explore how people are effected by their environment and also have an effect upon it. Here is a quote from the Baha'i Teachings to stimulate thought:
We cannot segregate the human heart from the environment outside us and say that once one of these is reformed everything will be improved. Man is organic with the world. His inner life moulds the environment and is itself also deeply affected by it. The one acts upon the other and every abiding change in the life of man is the result of these mutual reactions.
