Bent Creek River Park Hike: Is there hope for the environment?
Details
The hike will start at the Bent Creek River Park and go a little over 2 easy miles into the arboretum. The group will depart no later than 10:40.
The theme of the hike is: Is there hope for the environment?
The group will explore issues associated with environmental stewardship and the degree to which ethics, morals, and science can combine to contribute to positive and sustainable human interaction with our natural world.
The Baha'i Writings offer some food for thought on these matters:
We cannot segregate the human heart from the environment outside us and say that once one of these is reformed everything will be improved. Man is organic with the world. His inner life moulds the environment and is itself deeply affected by it. The one acts upon the other and every abiding change in the life of man is the result of these mutual reactions.
