Meet at the Ox Creek Trailhead at 9 a.m. We tend to park at the 2nd and third turn off, once you turn left onto Ox Creek from the Parkway. Please pay attention to this. These directions are for when you are coming from the parkway to Ox Creek Road, not from Weaverville. So, make sure you look on the left side of the road. There are two distinct places to pull off before you make the almost hairpin turn to the right where there is A lot of parking. You will also see a trailhead just across from the second pull off where we meet. I don't know how to get the map pin to mark this exact spot, so please read these directions.

We'll leave for the hike at 9:10 a.m. This hike is very rocky, so it's hard on the footing. Most of the hike to the ruins of the lodge is a slight upgrade and, on the return, there is a long stretch of incline just before the hike ends. When it's wet it can be slippery.

Mountains-to-Sea-Trail hikes are designed for fitness and community. We hike at 3.0 to 3.2 mph. There is a sweep so no one is left behind. This is a more strenuous hike than most on our list.
