For November's Supper Club it is about remembering those classic TV dinners with a little something tucked into every compartment.
We’re bringing them back, only this time, everything is homemade.
Join the Asheville Queer Supper Club for a playful throwback night inspired by the classic TV dinners of the 1970s and ’80s. Think chicken pot pie, buttery mashed potatoes, peas and carrots, mac & cheese, creamed spinach, dinner rolls, and of course, a little dessert tucked into the corner like cherry cobbler, and little brownies. I will make the pot pies, vegetable pot pies for vegetarians attending and a chicken pot pie.
Each guest will bring a homemade dish inspired by a classic TV dinner favorite, and together we’ll create our own very upgraded version of dinner in front of the television.
A goal of mine at the beginning of the year was to start a queer supper club. My hope is that these dinners become more than just a meal. That they become a place to slow down, cook with intention, and build the kind of community that feels increasingly hard to find. Good food has always had a way of bringing people together, and I'm excited to see what happens when we make room for it to do just that.
This isn't a restaurant meetup. It's a return to the tradition of gathering around a shared table—where everyone contributes, everyone belongs, and community is built one meal at a time.
How it works
- Limited to 6 people to keep the evening intimate and conversational.
- The goal is homemade food. This isn't about perfection—it's about sharing something you've created.
- I'll host in my home, provide the space, set the table, and create the atmosphere.
- When you RSVP, please comment with the dish you'd like to bring so we can build a balanced menu together. I can fill in any gaps.
Thank you for being here. I can't wait to share a meal with you. All gender expressions are welcomed to the table.
When you RVSP I will respond with directions. I can tell you I am centrally located close to downtown and River Arts District.
