Friday Night Out: Cocktails on the South Slope

End the week right — craft cocktails, good conversation, and a Friday night downtown with fellow Asheville transplants.

We're taking over a corner of one of downtown Asheville's best cocktail bars for a Friday night hangout. Whether you've had a long work week or you're kicking off the weekend, this is a no-agenda, just-show-up kind of evening. Come for one drink or stay for three — totally up to you.

The Plan:

• 6:00 PM — Meet at Antidote (151 Coxe Ave, downtown Asheville)

• 6:00–7:30 PM — Drinks and mingling at the bar

• 7:30 PM onward — For those who want to keep going, we'll walk to a second spot nearby

What to Know:

• Antidote is a craft cocktail bar with a laid-back vibe — they also have beer, wine, and non-alcoholic options

• No cover charge; drinks are pay-your-own

• We'll grab a section near the back — look for the Asheville Transplants sign or just ask at the bar

• Street parking on Lexington Ave or use the Rankin Ave garage (2-minute walk)

• Non-drinkers absolutely welcome — it's about the people, not the drinks

Why This Event:

Friday nights are when the city feels most alive, and there's no better way to meet new people than over a good drink in a great bar. If you're new to Asheville and haven't found your Friday night crew yet, this is your chance. Solo attendees especially welcome — we'll make sure nobody stands alone!
