Tuesday Jazz Night at Little Jumbo — Sanders, Boyd, Page & Hall
Details
Free live jazz, craft cocktails, and a Tuesday night out in downtown Asheville.
Little Jumbo is one of Asheville’s most beloved cocktail bars — housed in a former 1920s grocery store, named to USA Today’s 2025 list of the best bars, and home to a free Creative Music Series every Monday and Tuesday from 7–10pm. May 26 features Sanders, Boyd, Page & Hall: four veteran musicians whose original compositions move between melody, groove, and beautifully unpredictable improvisation. No cover, no minimum, just expertly poured drinks and music you won’t hear anywhere else.
The Plan:
• 7:00 PM — Meet inside Little Jumbo (look for the Asheville Transplants sign at our table)
• 7:00–10:00 PM — Music, cocktails, and conversation in the warmly-lit Victorian-parlor space
• Stay as long as you like — come for an hour or settle in for the full evening
What to Know:
• Admission is FREE — no cover charge, no minimum (confirmed on the venue’s site)
• Little Jumbo is at 241 Broadway St, in the Five Points neighborhood just a few blocks from downtown’s center
• Drinks are pay-your-own — craft cocktails ($9–18), classic and modern, plus beer, wine, and an excellent non-alcoholic / mocktail menu
Food situation — important:
• Little Jumbo is a cocktail bar, not a restaurant. They serve bar snacks only: Hunter’s mix, salt & pepper pistachios, hummus with crackers, olive mix, kettle chips, spicy cheese rounds, cookies (all $4–9)
• If you’re hungry, grab dinner beforehand at a downtown spot (Broadway / Lexington / Walnut St all walkable) and roll in close to 7 PM
Logistics:
• It’s a cozy space, so seats fill up — arrive close to 7 PM if you want a spot in our area
• Street parking on Broadway and nearby side streets, or use one of the downtown garages
• Non-drinkers absolutely welcome — the mocktail program is one of the best in town
Why This Event:
This is one of Asheville’s most underrated weeknight scenes — world-class musicians performing original, boundary-pushing work in a small, beautifully designed cocktail bar. It’s the kind of night that makes Asheville feel like Asheville. Come solo or with a friend — we’ll save you a seat.
