Sunset in the RAD: Wedge Brewing Patio + River Arts Walk
Details
Catch golden hour in Asheville's River Arts District — outdoor patio, cold beer, RAD Tacos, and a walk through the neighborhood that makes Asheville feel like Asheville.
Wedge Studios is one of the most iconic spots in the RAD — a 100-year-old triangular brick building turned artist hub, with Wedge Brewing anchoring the dock level and a huge outdoor patio that fills up with neighbors, creatives, and beer drinkers as the sun gets low. We'll grab a spot on the patio, eat at RAD Taco (right there on-site, open Wed–Sun), and take a casual stroll through the RAD afterward to see the studios and murals while the light is at its best.
The Plan:
• 6:30 PM — Meet on the outdoor patio at Wedge Studios, 37 Paynes Way (look for the Asheville Transplants sign)
• 6:30–8:00 PM — Hang out on the patio with drinks and tacos
• ~8:00 PM — Optional golden-hour walk through the RAD to see the studios, murals, and the French Broad
• ~8:45 PM — Wrap up (Wedge closes at 9 PM on Wednesdays — those who want to keep going can wander to another RAD spot)
What to Know:
• Drinks are pay-your-own — Wedge has a deep tap list (IPAs, lagers, pilsners, sours, a Belgian, a seltzer), plus guest taps with cider and a non-alcoholic option, plus wine
• Food on-site: RAD Taco is on the patio — tacos, quesadillas, and rotating specials, open during brewery hours Wed–Sun
• It's an outdoor patio — bring a light layer in case the evening cools down
• Dog-friendly outdoor space
• Parking: free along Paynes Way and surrounding streets in the RAD — arrive a few minutes early to grab a spot
• Non-drinkers absolutely welcome — Wedge has seltzers, NA options, and the patio vibe is the real draw
Why This Event:
The River Arts District at golden hour is Asheville at its best — old brick warehouses, kinetic art, the French Broad close by, and the kind of patio where it's easy to actually talk to people. If you've been meaning to spend more evenings in the RAD but never made the trip, this is your nudge. Solo attendees always welcome — we'll save you a seat at the table.
