Golden-Hour River Walk on the West Asheville Greenway
Details
Trade your screen for the river and catch golden hour on the water with us.
We're meeting up for an easy, social evening stroll along the French Broad River Greenway, the flat paved path that hugs the river through West Asheville's Carrier Park. No hills and no rush, just good conversation, river views, and that warm late-day light. New to the group or showing up solo? Perfect. A side-by-side walk is one of the easiest ways to meet people.
The Plan:
• 6:30 PM — Meet at the Carrier Park east-side parking lot, near the picnic shelter (look for the group)
• 6:45 PM — Set off down the greenway toward Hominy Creek at an easy, chatty pace
• ~7:30 PM — Turn around and head back as the light goes gold over the river
• 8:00 PM — Wrap up; anyone who wants to keep the evening going can grab a bite on nearby Haywood Road
What to Know:
• Free to attend — it's a public city park and greenway
• The path is flat and fully paved, so any comfortable walking shoes work
• Leashed, friendly dogs are welcome on the greenway
• Bring water and maybe a light layer for when the sun dips
• Heads up: after Hurricane Helene, the park's west-side facilities (including restrooms) are still closed, so plan ahead before you arrive
Why This Event:
Some of the best conversations happen shoulder-to-shoulder, not across a table. A relaxed riverside walk is low-pressure, easy to join, and a great way to put faces to names in the group. Come as you are — we'll save you a spot on the path.
• Non-alcoholic options are available — feel free to grab a soda or not drink anything at all. No pressure either way.
