The U.S. men's national team plays a win-or-go-home knockout match, and we're claiming a corner of The Draftsman to cheer them on. It's a roomy downtown lounge that carries all the major sports channels — a relaxed spot to catch the game without fighting a packed crowd. Die-hard fans and total newcomers to soccer are equally welcome; a USA knockout match brings its own energy.

The Plan:

• 7:30 PM — Meet at The Draftsman Bar + Lounge, inside The Restoration hotel (68 Patton Ave). Arrive early to grab drinks and claim a spot with a good view before kickoff — look for the Asheville Transplants group.

• 8:00 PM — Kickoff: USA's Round of 32 match

• Halftime — Regroup, grab another round, meet someone new

• ~10:00 PM+ — Full time. If it goes to extra time or penalties, we're staying for every minute.

What to Know:

• No cover; food and drinks are pay-your-own — full bar plus cocktails and non-alcoholic options

• The Draftsman is a big multi-room spot (lounge, bowling, arcade), so there's plenty of room to spread out

• Parking: the Rankin Ave and Wall Street garages are both a short walk

• Wear your red, white & blue if you've got it — no soccer knowledge required to have a blast
