On Wednesday, the USMNT won a World Cup knockout game for the first time since 2002 — grinding out a 2-0 win over Bosnia with only ten men after star striker Folarin Balogun (who had just scored his third goal of the tournament) was sent off on one of the most controversial red cards you'll ever see. Even the referees' association said he could "feel unfortunate." He's suspended for Monday, which means the team that showed all that heart has to do it again — shorthanded, as underdogs, against 9th-ranked Belgium.
Win, and the USA is in a World Cup quarterfinal on home soil for the first time in the modern era. This is the kind of night people remember where they were.

• 8:00 PM — Kickoff: USA vs Belgium, Round of 16, live from Seattle
• Full time — We celebrate (or console) together. If it goes to extra time, we're staying.

• Westville Pub, 777 Haywood Rd — a West Asheville neighborhood pub with TVs, pub food, and local beers on tap (including their own All Sevens Brewing)
• No cover, no ticket — just show up. Look for the Asheville Transplants crew.
• Wear red, white, and blue if you've got it. USA jerseys strongly encouraged.
Why This Event:
You don't need to know what a Round of 16 is. You don't need to have watched a single match this tournament. Some of the loudest, proudest soccer fans in this country have always been women — this is everyone's team and everyone's moment, and it's a lot more fun shoulder-to-shoulder with new friends than on your couch. Come for the game, stay for the people. If we win, you were there.
