Scenic AVL #9 - Juneteenth Edition - Downtown to Windswept from First Baptist

Meeting Place: Park in the First Baptist Church parking lot between the church and the YMCA.

Rating: Strenuous for Pace and Distance
Surface: Road and some trail
Mileage: about 5.5 miles
Elevation Gain: 750
Pace: 2.5 mph flats, slower on steep climbs. We will stop at the top of Windswept for a short break, and we will finish within 2.5 hours.
Features: Juneteenth Edition will stop at numerous Black History sites. There will be a lot of short stops.

Scenic Asheville Series: There are 10 hikes in the series; hike 9 of them and receive an attractive badge for your backpack. Check your progress HERE.

• There are generally 1 or 2 no-shows on my hikes, so we don't wait for people to arrive. If you are late, you'll be left behind.
• Notes and comments are genuinely appreciated.
