Bent Creek: Green’s Lick to Stradley Mountain –8miles, 1350’ ascent

Place to Meet: Bent Creek River Park 1592 Brevard Rd (approx. 1/10 mile south of the Arboretum on Hwy 191). driving from there to the trailhead: Campground Connector in Bent Creek--limited parking; don't drive directly to the trailhead. Description; Hike through Bent Creek to Four Points on Stradley Mountain. Good footing; mostly wide trails; nearby creeks, but no panoramic views. Ascending via Lower Sidehill and Green’s Lick. Descending via Little Hickory with a snack break at the picnic tables on Boyd Branch. Type: loop. Max elev: 3300’. Avg moving pace: 2.4 mph. Difficulty (1=effortless, 10=hard): 5.5. Dogs: welcome if well-behaved and leashed, subject to area restrictions.
As usual, there will be opportunity to have lunch and/or a beverage after the hike at the Stoneridge Tavern.
