Looking Glass Rock trail to first overlook

Details
READ DESCRIPTION FULLY
as you may know, looking glass rock is an iconic local trail that's about 3 miles and 1700 feet to the well-known overlook. that last mile is the most technical of the three. at the two-ish mile mark, on the other side, and over, from the large rock face that you pass on the left, there's another area with epic views that is lesser-known but equally awesome
approx 4.2 miles out and back with 1260-ish feet of elevation gain. I would call this trail moderate with a capital M, it's an upward trajectory a good bit of the time. note the elevation gain per distance traveled
pace of 2 - 2.5 mph
well behaved dogs are welcome to attend, but should be safely leashed at the rock face overlook!
per previous hikes:
gear up as appropriate, trekking poles are an option. bring a snack as we'll take a break mid-hike. oh and plenty of water!
ground rules: 1) if you sign up, show up or change your status. a no-show may undercut a motivated waitlister. 2 ) be sure you are in adequate physical shape to complete the event. 3) show consideration by emphasizing group effort and group cohesion. communication, collaboration, cooperation, that sort of thing. and showing up. showing up is just plain awesome. I hike for stress reduction and want to keep it that way as much as possible
