Shut-In from Bent Creek Gap Rd to Big Ridge Overlook - 7.7 Mi, 2200 Ft

I think we should take advantage of the Parkway being open and do a section of the Shut-In from Bent Creek Gap Rd to the Big Ridge Overlook. This will include Ferrin Knob at just over 4K feet. It will be an out and back and a big day elevation gain wise at 2231 ft over 7.7 miles per AllTrails.

It can be a bit tricky to find the trailhead parking area the first time so I will be at the Outlet Mall parking lot behind the Waffle House leaving at 9am. Please be there a bit early if you want to carpool to the trailhead. Please let me know via the comments or private message where you will meet me. We will plan to start hiking at 9:30.

No telling what the weather will be on Monday so I will post updates if the Parkway closes. This is a winter hike and a good time to use that fancy gear we all purchase.

Dogs are welcome but must be on a leash at all times.
