Details

  • Out and back 3.5-4 hour Hike will begin at the Folk Arts Center on the MST North direction for 2 1/2 miles past the major climb and decent to a right on a spur trail leading to the Bear trail. The Bear trail is new and only partly scouted. We will hike in the outbound direction for approximetly 1.75 hours with a snack before returning. Elevation data and distance are estimates. The scouted part of the Bear trail was relatively smooth with minimal rocks and in good condition. The hike is mostly under a forest canopy and has a rural-back country feel.
  • Length ? aproximately 10-11 miles.
  • Elevation gain estimate: in the mid-level range (1800 +/-. feet.
  • PACE: Brisk pace of 2.5 mph on steeper climbs or rugged trail condition to 3-3+ mph on lesser climbs and downhill sections.
  • Dogs: Trail friendly dogs welcome.

    Check for weather cancelation message on or before 7:30 AM if the forecast is >50% chance of precipitation.
