join me for a smaller group, non-intensive out and back to the John Rock overlook, taking time to appreciate the emerging flora and spring blooms.

approx 4.7 miles and 875 feet of elevation gain

well behaved dogs welcome, but they will need to be leashed for their safety as we approach the rock face

say 2 - 2.5 mph pace

carpooling is encouraged due to limited parking at the trailhead as the site is under construction

gear up as appropriate, trekking poles are an option. bring a snack as we'll take a break mid-hike. and plenty of water

ground rules:

  1. if you sign up, show up or change your status. a no-show may undercut a motivated wait-lister. (repeated no-shows will have consequences) likewise, if you're on the wait list at the time of the hike, don't presume to just show up

2 ) be sure you are in adequate physical shape to complete the event

  1. show consideration by emphasizing group effort and group cohesion. I hike for stress reduction and want to keep it that way. i reserve the right to remove anyone from an event if words or actions indicate the need to do so
