Cove Creek, Lanning & Daniel Ridge trails

approx 7 miles, 1200 ish feet elevation gain
this hike involves a good part of the Daniel Ridge loop, the trailhead for which is currently inaccessible d/t FS475 being closed at Cove Creek. so instead we'll head in on FS809 to ascend Old Lanning Ridge trail, then head down past the lower falls, Daniel Ridge clockwise along, up, and parallel to the river, to the intersection with Farlow Gap, then on to the intersection with Lanning Ridge, left past the upper falls and back down to the trailhead.
anticipate carpooling from the Pisgah ranger station. meeting there @08:30. specifics will be in comments
anticipated pace 2.5 ish mph
well-behaved dogs are welcome!
per previous hikes:
gear up as appropriate, trekking poles are an option. bring a snack as we'll take a break mid-hike. and plenty of water
