approx 7 mile 1200 ft out and back on the MST/Shut In. three overlooks: Stony Bald, Big Ridge, Mills River Valley, then on to Elk Pasture Gap (turnaround point)
anticipated pace 2.5 ish mph
well-behaved dogs are welcome!
per previous hikes:
gear up as appropriate, trekking poles are an option. bring a snack as we'll take a break mid-hike. and plenty of water
ground rules: 1) if you sign up, show up or change your status. 2 ) be sure you are in adequate physical shape to complete the event. 3) show consideration toward all attendees. I hike for stress reduction and want to keep it that way as much as possible
