John Rock the long way

John Rock the Long Way
Distance: 7.5-8 miles
Elevation: 1,500’
Speed: 2-2.5 mph average

We’ll meet at the Pisgah Ranger station at 8:45 for a 9AM sharp start. Due to limited parking at the fish hatchery it would be better to meet at the ranger station for call pooling.

We’ll start on Cat Gap Loop for .4 miles and then turn onto Butter Gap. Follow Butter Gap until the Pickelmiser connector, head down the connector back to Cat Gap. Follow Cat Gap to the Cat Gap connector over to the John Rock trail. Head up John Rock, stop at the view point and then the back to Cat Gap and the parking lot.
