approx 5 miles, 950 feet of elevation gain

this is a beautiful trail with some moderately technical (rocky) areas. we go up and over Bearwallow mountain proper, taking a short break at the top, then down into the valley between it and Little Bearwallow on the first portion of the Wildcat Rock trail. then 2nd break for rest, snack and water, then return to the trailhead

pace of 2.0 - 2.5 mph

well behaved dogs are welcome to attend. this hike is unique in that there is a resident herd of cattle, and we don't want any dog v. cow scenarios. i'm a big fan of off-leash dogs on hikes, but a leash may be needed around the cows

per previous hikes:

gear up as appropriate, trekking poles are an option. bring a snack as we'll take a break mid-hike. oh and plenty of water!

ground rules: 1) if you sign up, show up or change your status. 2 ) be sure you are in adequate physical shape to complete the event. 3) show consideration toward all atendees. I hike for stress reduction and want to keep it that way as much as possible
