Flatlander's Folly

MST from Elk Pasture Gap (NC151 & BRP) to Pisgah Inn, out and back, 7 miles, pace about 2 mph, less is steep areas. The first part of the hike, to Little Pisgah, is a 1,200 foot climb over 1.5 miles. That's the steep, slower part. Then it's a steep descent to the Buck Springs Lodge site and then on to Pisgah Inn. We'll take our break at the Inn, then return.

7 miles, 1,200 feet of steep elevation, difficult trails, not a dog friendly hike.

Parking is limited at the trailhead; we will carpool from the French Broad River overlook.

With the heat of summer, we're hiking at higher elevations for cooler temperatures. This will entail longer drives and perhaps more difficult hikes. That's the plan. God is laughing.
