Rattlesnake Lodge to Folk Art Center along the MST 10 miles, 1400' elevation
Details
Meeting Spot: Folk Art Center on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Prompt 8:30 departure
Description: This is a point to point hike. We will meet at the Folk Art Center and shuttle up to the Rattle Snake Lodge starting point. Follow the MST Trail from the remnants of the Rattlesnake Lodge, a turn of the century lodge built by an Asheville physician, to the Folk Art Center. There is a large variety of colorful wildflowers along the trail, which is mostly downhill with a few short climbs. There is a nice overlook for a lunch/snack break. Good footing. Shaded. Pace: 2.4 mph. Dogs welcome if on a leash. A lunch spot after the hike would be nice--suggestions welcome
