Overview:
This challenging high elevation gain walk is inspired by the Camino Primitivo. We begin and end at Ingles on Merrimon Avenue and Beaverdam Rd.
Our first stage is a warm up on rolling hills through the beautiful heavily wooded Sherwood Heights neighborhood. Crossing over via Windsor Rd we reach the Reynolds Mountain community. We stop to rest, hydrate and have a snack.
In the next section we steeply ascend up and around the top with beautiful long-range views. After lunch at The Village Porch in Reynolds Mountain we return around the back of Beaver Lake.
There are several options for a shorter less strenuous walk of about 6, 7, or 8 miles. The Sherwood Heights hills are moderate and you can skip the climb up Reynolds Mountain.
There is no coffee stop along the route, and no actual restrooms. We pass porto potties outside homes being renovated or constructed.
Almost all of the route is on pavement. Wear appropriate shoes and being snacks and water.

Guests: For this hike, there are no guest restrictions. Bring them with you.
