Sleepy Gap to Ferrin Knob on MST - 9.3 Mi, 2600 Ft EG

This out and back hike replaces the hike that I scheduled for Monday at Thompson Creek. I may adjust this hike on the fly due to trail conditions after the storm but we have many options along this area of the MST to go different routes. Hopefully we will have some nice leaf colors. This will be the longest and most elevation gain of the routes we would take and because it is an out and back you can shorten if you want. The trail may be muddy and slippery and we may encounter downed trees so please be prepared and capable for these conditions. We will go at a moderate rate, 2.5 mph average but take breaks along the way.
We will meet at Sleepy Gap Overlook parking area at 8:30.
WEATHER
The weather currently should be okay for Monday but I'll watch the weather and post a cancellation message by 7:00 AM if there is a chance of severe weather or lightning during this time period..
