Tuckasegee PADDLE from Locust Landing to Barkers Creek

Details

The Tuckasegee River primarily runs over gravel bars until it reaches the gorge below Dillsboro, where it begins to drop over ledges.
We will run from Locust Landing to Barkers Creek Access for an approx. 10 1/2 mile float. First 5 miles is small whitewater interspersed, then you can either run the flume at the old dam or portage before we do the lower 5 miles which will have a number of fun Class II-II+ depending on how YOU paddle and rate rivers : ) I would call it all Class I-II, except for a II+-III at the dam [which you can portage].
Must be experienced in class I- II, have PFD and whistle, 7' line on bow for man- over- boards, lunch and your own kayak and gear for whitewater.
MUST have skirt w/sit-in and flotation with all boats, if you don't have a sit-on-top. Please have everything D-clipped (water bottles, lunch, etc) to your kayak. NO INFLATABLES OR SUP'S PLEASE.
I NEED 4 TO SIGN-UP TO MAKE IT A GO.
Please note that the ending time is only a guess.
Meeting Home Depot exit 44 and carpooling as usual.
